„La Mansarde Hermétique“ is an improvisational ambient / electronica project from Mainz, Germany.

The first few sessions of the duo took place in an actual mansard, a small room located in an attic. The name also is an homage to the graphic artist, cartoonist, and writer Moebius, who among many other things created the science fiction comic series "Le Garage Hermétique" („The Airtight Garage“).

Michael Brückner and Mathias Brüssel are the core members of „La Mansarde Hermétique“ but sometimes other artists have been featured in later events.

"The Attic Diaries“ is a series of albums aiming to publish those live, improvised sessions in non-chronological order.

„Episode 2“ features material from their last session (so far) in August 2022.

Michael Brückner used this particular meeting as a "warm up" for the filming of a solo live performance in his studio on the following day, for that year's "Cyclical Fest" streaming festival. Because of that, the session was mainly built around a set of sounds Michael had prepared on the same afternoon for that purpose (and the similarity between this music and the first part of the festival performance is therefore quite obvious if You compare them one to one).

Track 1 represents the original session (which, by the way, for the first time didn't take place in either of the two artist's place, but online using a jamming software called "Jamtaba"), with only some cuts and edits (basicallly removing some lengthy passages).

With the remaining tracks, both Mathias and Michael created their own remixes of the material, partly with later studio additions...
